LEGO Series 28 — Animals (71051)

LEGO Minifigures Series 28 (set 71051) reached shops on 1 January 2026 and did something the line had never done before: all twelve characters wear animal costumes. No baker, no knight, no astronaut — instead a peacock, a koala, a crocodile, a dolphin and eight more disguises, each built around one strong element: a head, wings, a tail or a mane. Every figure also comes with at least one accessory.

That changes how you go about completing the series. Costume minifigures have been among the best-loved in the whole Collectible Minifigures line for years — the bunny from Series 7 and the chicken from Series 9 are still the benchmark — and here you get twelve of them at once. For a collector that means an unusually coherent set: lined up in a row they look like a single parade rather than an assortment of random jobs and eras. A child, meanwhile, simply sees twelve animals to play with straight away, with no job titles to explain.

One practical point matters more than the rest: the figures come in sealed boxes, so without scanning the code on the packaging there is no way to guess what is inside.
