About this minifigure
Translating a legless, torpedo-shaped animal onto the rigid frame of a minifigure was a tall order. The answer turned out to be the head with its distinctive beak — it makes the figure readable at a glance, even though it stands on two legs like every other minifigure.
A good choice for a child who loves anything nautical. The Dolphin pairs naturally with the Goldfish from the same series, with boats, jetties and seaside City sets, and it more or less casts itself in any rescue-at-sea game.
Collectors note that marine mammals have shown up in LEGO as ready-made creatures far more often than as costumes, so a dolphin in this form is unusual. Be aware that light prints over the darker plastic come out less crisply than the manufacturer's photos suggest. It also carries one of the coolest-toned palettes in the whole series, alongside the Peacock.
