LEGO Mighty Machines (42233)

Mighty Machines is the first LEGO Technic line to be sold the way minifigures have been sold for years: in small boxes that give away nothing about what is inside. Instead of a character you get a complete miniature construction machine. Eight of them make up the line, most running to forty-odd pieces and buildable in about a quarter of an hour. The set carries the number 42233 and went on sale on 1 August 2026. Each box holds a collector card alongside the model: machine stats on one side, a section of road on the other.

Every machine in the line has a working function, and that is what sets the series apart. The Cement Truck turns its drum as it drives, the Excavator works its boom and bucket from two separate knobs, the Wheel Loader raises its bucket through a worm gear, and the Wrecking Ball Crane swings its ball. These are not static shelf pieces but small mechanisms where you can watch one movement turn into another with the naked eye. If you have never held a Technic model, this is an unusually gentle way in; experienced builders get working mechanics at a scale where normally nothing fits, plus a new half-width Technic beam.

Parents and collectors care about one thing above all: the boxes are random, but each carries a code that can be read before it is opened. Tracking down the machine still missing from the shelf, or the one a child has been asking about all week, stops being a lottery. And the "Series 1" in the name suggests eight models will not be the end of it.
