LEGO minifigure scanner — see what is in the box

Not sure which figure is sealed in that box? Scan the Data Matrix code on the bottom and find out in a second — no opening, nothing to install.

Since Series 25 (January 2024), LEGO prints a square Data Matrix code on the bottom of every blind box, to the right of the barcode. That code identifies the exact figure inside. The scanner reads it with your phone camera and shows you what you are holding, with a photo and its number in the series.

Every series that carries a code is supported, from Series 25 through Shrek, plus LEGO Technic Mighty Machines boxes. The scanner works out the series from the code, so you never have to pick one. Your collection is saved in the browser, along with a count of duplicates to trade.

How to scan a LEGO box

  1. Allow access to the camera.
  2. Turn the box upside down.
  3. Aim at the square code (Data Matrix) to the right of the barcode.
  4. Cover the barcode with a finger — it reads faster that way.

Working through a whole shelf?

Turn on rapid mode. The result clears itself after a moment and the camera goes straight back to scanning, so you can work box after box without touching the screen — useful when one hand is already full. The page also works offline: open it once and it will start in the shop even with no signal. You can add it to your home screen and use it like an ordinary app.

Series and code catalogue

Every series and every item has its own page with Data Matrix codes, a photo and a description. 116 figures and 352 codes in total.
