About this minifigure
Fans will recognise the wings straight away: they are the same pieces LEGO used for the cult chicken suit in Series 9. What is entirely new is the headgear with its pronounced curved beak, and the tail, made from two fabric parts of different sizes so the feathers hang naturally.
The figure comes with a printed box of parrot treats. A small thing, but it is exactly this sort of extra that makes a costume minifigure look like a finished character rather than a disguise with no context around it.
For children the Parrot is the obvious companion for pirate and jungle games — it lands on a captain's shoulder faster than it can step off its stand. Collectors rate it highly within the set: it combines a new mould with a nod to a figure that has been a reference point for the whole line for well over a decade.
