Road Roller
Small children spot the Road Roller in a line-up before they can name anything standing next to it, and then they push it up and down the carpet until the room runs out of floor.
Data Matrix codes: Road Roller
One of these codes is printed on the bottom of the box, next to the barcode.

LEGO prints a different code for each production batch and region, which is why one item has several. The scanner recognises all 2.
About this vehicle
A roller does one job: it drives over fresh asphalt and leaves a smooth surface behind it. No construction vehicle has a simpler shape, which is why children recognise it straight away, and its unhurried pace is easy to copy on a living room floor.
The 42233 version is among the quickest builds in the series, and even so, something on it works. The front section swings by hand, so the model genuinely steers, with no levers or knobs involved. Fifteen minutes of building leave you with a model that already does something.
For collectors this is a background player. Next to the Mobile Crane or the Excavator it does not turn heads, yet the set looks unfinished without it. Real sites work the same way: until the surface has been rolled smooth, the road is not finished. It is worth slotting into the collection early rather than leaving it until last.
Got a box? Check whether it is Road Roller
Scan the Data Matrix code on the bottom of the box and see what is inside โ without opening it, and without installing anything.
