About this vehicle
Most children name this vehicle first when someone asks them for a construction machine. The upper house slews, the arm ends in a bucket, and the work is visible from the first minute, which is why games about building usually start right here.
Two independent movements made it into the miniature. A knob sits on either side of the model: one drives the boom, the other the bucket, so digging can be acted out in full rather than merely suggested. At this scale that counts as a genuine achievement, and Technic builders notice it immediately.
The mix-up to watch for is with the Wheel Loader. There the bucket sits low at the front for scooping, while here it hangs off a long, jointed arm. The two also work differently: the loader drives in and scoops, the excavator plants itself and reaches.
