Imposter

LEGO Series 26 — Space · 71046 No. 2
👽

The old story of the crew member who is not what he seems gets a literal reading here: turn the head, and behind the polite grin a small green alien sits at the controls.

Data Matrix codes: Imposter

One of these codes is printed on the bottom of the box, next to the barcode.

LEGO prints a different code for each production batch and region, which is why one item has several. The scanner recognises all 3.

About this minifigure

The joke lands in the first second. The minifigure turns out not to be a person at all but a walking cockpit, and the antennae lift off the head too, which fills in the rest of the story.

The box also holds tiny green alien figures, so the scene assembles on its own — one flies, the others wait their turn. Children who already know the game of working out who is faking it need no explanation at all. Between the antennae and the second face, one minifigure covers two roles at once.

Among collectors the Imposter counts as the dark horse of Series 26. It is not about rarity but about the idea: it looks modest in the leaflet photo, then comes out of the packet and straight onto a desk to be shown to everyone in the house. It also works beautifully posed with a crew that suspects nothing.

Did you know: The figure's second face shows a green alien at the controls — in this disguise, the minifigure head serves as the pilot's cockpit.
