M-Tron Powerlifter

LEGO Series 26 — Space · 71046 No. 5
🏋️

M-Tron were the heavy-work crew of LEGO space in 1990: haulage, cargo, magnets. The Powerlifter puts that red-and-black uniform back on and fills both hands with lifting gear.

Data Matrix codes: M-Tron Powerlifter

One of these codes is printed on the bottom of the box, next to the barcode.

LEGO prints a different code for each production batch and region, which is why one item has several. The scanner recognises all 3.

About this minifigure

The figure sticks to the job literally — it does not explore and it does not fight, it lifts. Among aliens and robots, an ordinary workman looks surprisingly fresh, and instead of a blaster his hands are full of working kit.

Parents have an easy time explaining the point of him: he is a space crane at human scale, made for playing at bases, depots and unloading cargo on an alien world. He pairs well with construction sets, because he speaks the same language as diggers and tower cranes.

For collectors he is one of the main reasons to own Series 26 complete. The red-and-black colour scheme with its distinctive logo quotes the 1990s directly, and for a great many adult fans M-Tron was the first space line they can remember from childhood.

Did you know: The figure's second face shows a screen with a battery-charge readout, and the original M-Tron sets of 1990 held their cargo on magnets.
