If you remember Ice Planet 2002 at all, you remember the transparent orange. This explorer brings the 1993 palette back in modern form, with a saw in hand and a robotic penguin along for the expedition.

About this minifigure
Adult fans tend to recall that line by its colour before anything else, and the transparent orange parts are recognisable from across a room. On top of the palette, the figure adds a removable helmet and a tool for cutting through ice.
For a child it is chiefly a polar explorer in space, plus a penguin — an extra that beats most blasters. An ice base, a trip out for samples, a rescue from a crack in the glacier: the play comes easily.
Collectors put it in the same bracket as the M-Tron Powerlifter and the Blacktron Mutant, the retro end of the wave. Anyone buying single boxes rather than the full set is usually hunting for this one hardest. The white-and-orange combination and the removable helmet complete the sense of an old theme returning in better quality.
