About this minifigure
The gag works by colliding two clichés: the most sinister alien in popular culture and the most ordinary tourist on a coach trip. There is no beam for lifting cattle, only short legs, a shirt thrown over an Earth T-shirt and a camera ready for the holiday snap.
For children it slots into a game more easily than most — it suits a scene in town, on the beach or at the zoo, because a tourist looks equally out of place everywhere. For adults it is simply a joke that keeps working on a desk. The short legs underline that this is a genuine visitor, not somebody in fancy dress.
Aliens in the collectible waves rarely wear civilian clothes, and collectors notice it. Most LEGO extraterrestrials are soldiers, monsters or machines; this one links the space theme to a whole shelf of holiday and travel figures.
