Thelonious

LEGO Shrek ยท 71053 No. 1
๐Ÿช“

Thelonious keeps order in Duloc from inside a black hood, though hardly anyone who has seen the first Shrek could put a name to him.

Data Matrix codes: Thelonious

One of these codes is printed on the bottom of the box, next to the barcode.

LEGO prints a different code for each production batch and region, which is why one item has several. The scanner recognises all 3.

About this minifigure

In the first film he stands just behind the ruler of Duloc, a hulking figure at the edge of every scene set in that spotless little town. He only looks frightening from a distance, because the script keeps turning him into someone far more good-natured than scary, and that is the whole joke. LEGO labels the minifigure simply as the executioner; fans use the name anyway.

In play he works as a ready-made opponent. The mask and the build say which side he is on straight away, and because he is a nameless heavy you can hand him any role you like: gate guard, bodyguard, strongman at the tournament.

Nobody will be scrapping over this number, and there is no point pretending otherwise. Supporting characters from licensed waves usually get a single outing in brick form and never return, though, and Duloc without its executioner looks like a court with no courtiers.

Got a box? Check whether it is Thelonious

Scan the Data Matrix code on the bottom of the box and see what is inside โ€” without opening it, and without installing anything.
