Prince Charming keeps turning up to claim a throne nobody has offered him, and keeps losing it to an ogre from a swamp.

Data Matrix codes: Prince Charming

One of these codes is printed on the bottom of the box, next to the barcode.

LEGO prints a different code for each production batch and region, which is why one item has several. The scanner recognises all 3.

About this minifigure

He reaches Fiona's tower a whole film late and spends the remaining films trying to win back something he never had. In the second film he works to his mother's orders, the Fairy Godmother's, and in the third he takes charge himself, gathering an army of villains to seize Far Far Away. The vanity, the hair and the theatrical streak make him a villain who is hard to take entirely seriously, which is precisely the point.

To a child he is the other prince, perfect for standing opposite Shrek. He also looks like a prince from any fairytale at all, so he drops into ordinary castle games without a second thought.

In a complete set he closes the villain line: Farquaad from the first film, the Fairy Godmother from the second, Charming from the third. Only as a trio do they show how the ogre's opponent changed film by film, from petty tyrant to spoilt claimant to the throne.

Did you know: Prince Charming was voiced by Rupert Everett.
