Tiefling Sorcerer

LEGO Dungeons & Dragons · 71047 No. 3

What exactly is a tiefling? It is a race that carries infernal blood from the lower planes — one of the most frequently chosen races in Dungeons & Dragons — and this version comes with magic in the veins.

Data Matrix codes: Tiefling Sorcerer

One of these codes is printed on the bottom of the box, next to the barcode.

LEGO prints a different code for each production batch and region, which is why one item has several. The scanner recognises all 3.

About this minifigure

Tieflings carry the mark of an infernal ancestor in their blood, and for centuries they have paid for it with the suspicion of everyone around them. That is exactly why they work so well at the table: a race built around having to prove you are not what people assume hands a player a ready-made hook. In the newer editions it remains one of the most popular choices going.

Sorcery fits the bill here, because a sorcerer's magic is innate rather than learned. The power comes from bloodline, not from books. Nobody needs the lore explained to get the idea; the look and the spellcasting say it all.

In LEGO terms, horned heads in a bold skin colour always pull the eye. Few figures in the series push the fantasy register quite this hard, so this one naturally ends up shelved with the witches, demons and dark mages from earlier collectible runs.

Did you know: Tieflings debuted in 1994 in the Planescape setting — the same setting The Lady of Pain comes from, who is also in this series.
