The Lady of Pain

LEGO Dungeons & Dragons · 71047 No. 10
🗡️

Can you beat her? Nobody beats The Lady of Pain — she rules in silence, has never been explained, and the most a party can manage is to stay out of her way.

Data Matrix codes: The Lady of Pain

One of these codes is printed on the bottom of the box, next to the barcode.

LEGO prints a different code for each production batch and region, which is why one item has several. The scanner recognises all 3.

About this minifigure

The Lady of Pain rules Sigil, the city of doors suspended at the centre of all the planes. She does not speak, does not negotiate and does not tolerate being worshipped; those who cross her are cast into the Mazes. The creators of the Planescape setting never explained what she actually is, and that missing answer became part of the legend.

Nobody expected her in a minifigure series, and her presence is the clearest proof that 71047 did not stop at the most recognisable icons. Players who remember Planescape react to this figure more loudly than to any other.

The silhouette does the work even without the context. The distinctive crown of blades around the head means the figure looks as good in a fantasy diorama as it does standing alone on a shelf, faintly unsettling and needing no explanation.

Did you know: Planescape material followed one iron rule: the Lady of Pain never appears as an enemy to be beaten, only as a force you do not win against.
