About this minifigure
This Peter showed up in the first film as Miles's reluctant mentor — divorced, gone to seed and wearing a tracksuit. In Across the Spider-Verse he returns as a father, carrying his daughter in a sling and taking her along on the job as though that were the most ordinary thing in the world. The contrast between the battered hero and a baby in a spider suit produced the warmest scenes in the whole run.
The name Mayday nods to the comics' May Parker, daughter of Peter and Mary Jane, who in one alternate timeline becomes a hero in her own right as Spider-Girl. The screen version is still an infant, but the powers already work, which causes a considerable amount of trouble.
A parent-and-child pairing is rare in minifigure form, and this one has real story behind it, so there is no confusing it with anything else on the shelf.
Did you know: The comics' May "Mayday" Parker debuted as a teenage Spider-Girl in 1998, a quarter of a century before her infant screen version.
