About this minifigure
The character was created in 2004, when Marvel let Indian creators retell the Spider-Man myth from scratch rather than simply translating Peter Parker's issues. In place of a radioactive spider there is a mystical origin, and the familiar supporting cast gets Indian counterparts.
The wider audience met Pavitr through Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse — confident, talkative and genuinely irritated by everyone explaining to him how to be Spider-Man. His joke about "chai tea" — tea tea — became instantly quotable. Mumbattan itself is among the richest-looking places in the film: signage, crowds and architecture sewn together from two cities at once.
His outfit combines the web pattern with elements of traditional dress, so he breaks up the run of bodysuits — nothing else in the box matches him for colour or shape. Anyone who saw the second film recognises him on sight.
Did you know: In the comic, Uncle Ben's counterpart is Uncle Bhim, and the line about great power and great responsibility is woven into family tradition rather than an accident.
