Unicorn Elf

About this minifigure
Nothing about the recipe is complicated, and that is the point. It is hard to imagine a shorter path to a character somebody at home will love on sight — or to the flat "I want the unicorn one" that half of all parents will be hearing.
Unicorns have drifted through earlier series mainly as a costume or a gag. Here the character is part of a proper fantasy world, which chimes nicely both with the Dungeons & Dragons wave and with lingering affection for the old Elves line. Fans of classic fantasy get somebody who genuinely belongs in their dioramas rather than a funny outfit.
The figure is neither a knight nor a monster, just a resident of the magic forest, and it plays that without winking at the audience, which in this genre happens less often than you would expect.
