About this minifigure
The idea is simple, but at minifigure scale it works brilliantly: funny, mildly educational and — mercifully — free of any lecture about recycling.
No film and no universe is needed to get the point, because one look at a shambling heap of litter assigns the role: antagonist for whichever hero happens to be within reach. Children grab this one immediately, purely because it is strange.
LEGO has long enjoyed building monsters out of ordinary objects, and this is the most current of them, because the problem it pokes at is visible out of the window. It walks into a landfill, sewer or run-down city diorama with no effort at all, and in superhero scenes it plays the villain nobody needs introducing.
Did you know: Since 2018 some LEGO elements — mostly the little plants and trees — have been made from polyethylene derived from sugarcane rather than oil.
