Marine Biologist

LEGO Series 29 · 71052 No. 2
Marine Biologist

Most collections already hold the animals from Series 28, and the Marine Biologist works on creatures like those for a living — a scientist rather than an adventurer.

Data Matrix codes: Marine Biologist

One of these codes is printed on the bottom of the box, next to the barcode.

LEGO prints a different code for each production batch and region, which is why one item has several. The scanner recognises all 3.

About this minifigure

The sea comes round regularly in Collectible Minifigures, sometimes as a wreck diver, sometimes as a researcher with a sample tube. This one belongs firmly to the second family: less interested in adventure than in knowing exactly what is swimming down there.

Put her in front of those animals and a scene assembles itself, researcher and research subjects, without a single extra purchase. A child fascinated by sharks, turtles or reefs effectively gets a minifigure of themselves.

She is a useful character too: she slots into a harbour diorama, a submarine or a research station and drags no film or game continuity along with her. Minifigures like this rarely headline their wave, but they are the ones that end up staying on the shelf rather than in the box of spares. If somebody at home is planning an underwater build, one is usually not enough.

Did you know: More than 80 per cent of the ocean has never been properly explored or mapped — marine biologists are still describing species science knew nothing about.

Got a box? Check whether it is Marine Biologist

Scan the Data Matrix code on the bottom of the box and see what is inside — without opening it, and without installing anything.
