Cupid
Not many minifigure accessories carry two thousand years of meaning, but the little red bow in Cupid's hand does, and he brings a heart and a brand-new pair of cherub wings with it.

About this minifigure
The pedigree is straightforward: the Roman Cupid is the same god the Greeks called Eros, and his bow and arrows have meant precisely one thing since antiquity. LEGO reaches for mythology rarely, so he stands well apart from the longboarders and costumes elsewhere in the series.
Shops had him from the start of January, which is impeccable timing for what he is mostly bought for. Demand here has very little to do with collecting: he makes an excellent small Valentine's gift, and plenty of the people buying him have never collected a minifigure in their lives.
Children need one sentence: a little angel with wings who shoots a bow. After that he ends up in play nothing like the designer intended, usually as the winged member of a fantasy party.
Did you know: In Ovid, Cupid carries two kinds of arrow: golden ones that kindle love and leaden ones that provoke loathing โ the story of Apollo and Daphne begins with a pair of them.
