Nothing has to be built around the Harpy for it to look finished. The wings break the standard minifigure silhouette the moment the figure stands upright, so a shelf, a hand or a camera makes setting enough.

About this minifigure
In the myths, harpies were gales with claws: they snatched people and food, appeared from nowhere and vanished just as fast. LEGO has been raiding that gallery of monsters with growing confidence — the Minotaur and Medusa came earlier — and the Harpy continues in the same direction.
Collectors value it because this is no costumed human but a creature in its own right. Put it with the Vampire Knight and the Fierce Barbarian and you have the cast of a fantasy skirmish without buying anything else.
For children it is a "wow" figure: the wings and the mythological pedigree make an impression, and the character is neither brutal nor frightening. For school lessons on myth it can be a better way in than the textbook.
Did you know: The Greek word behind the name harpy means "to snatch". In the myth of King Phineus, harpies stole food from under his nose until companions of the Argonauts drove them off.
